  • Birdlife like Bennet’s woodpecker, Natal robin, European hobby, Grey penduline tit, Black widowfinch, Steelblue widowfinch, Scops Owl, Giant eagle owl, Bathawk, openbilled, yellowbilled, saddlebilled and woolynecked storks, whitewinged tern and black crake and African jacana
  • Vegetation like Transvaal Mustard trees, Weeping boer-bean, Sausage Tree, Natal mahogany, Brack thorn, Mopane Shrubs and Apple-leaf

Punda Maria Gate is the closest gate to Shingwedzi Rest camp and is located approximately 72 km from the camp.
