Fires are allowed only in designated areas, and lodges have standard check-in from 14:00 and check-out at 10:00, with late arrivals needing prior notice.

The reserve is about 450 kilometres from Johannesburg, roughly a five-hour drive along the N4, and is close to Hectorspruit, between Malelane and Komatipoort.
