Lukimbi Private Concession is a 15,000-hectare exclusive area within the southern section of Kruger National Park, South Africa. It is one of only seven private concessions in the park, offering a more intimate and exclusive safari experience compared to the public areas.
While the lodge provides all-inclusive packages covering meals, game drives, and guided walks, amenities such as banks, ATMs, fuel stations, and shopping facilities are not available within the concession or nearby. Guests should plan accordingly and ensure they have all necessary supplies before entering the park.
Within the concession, Lukimbi Safari Lodge offers luxury accommodation and a range of activities, including game drives, bush walks, bird watching, and spa treatments.
Guests can enjoy guided game drives on private roads, providing opportunities to see the Big Five and other wildlife in a more exclusive setting.
Safety is paramount, and visitors are advised to follow all guidelines provided by the lodge and park authorities. The area is malaria-risk, so appropriate precautions are recommended. In addition, wildlife encounters can include snakes, scorpions, baboons, monkeys, bushbuck, bats, insects, and spiders; awareness and caution are essential.
The concession is situated approximately 26 km from the Malelane Gate, making it accessible via a 5-hour drive from Johannesburg. The area is traversed by a 123 km road network, accessible only to a limited number of vehicles—six safari vehicles and a maximum of 32 guests at any given time.
